Accuracy in data entry comes from an organized table, a fixed format for each column, and a review after entry. Define the shape of the data before you start, and errors drop and processing gets easier.
How do I prepare the table?
- One column for each type of data.
- One row for each record.
- Clear column headings.
- No merged cells inside the data table.
How do I avoid mistakes with numbers and dates?
- Fix one date format for the whole table.
- Do not mix Arabic and English digits in one column.
- Store phone numbers as text so the leading zero is not dropped.
How do I review after entry?
- Compare the number of records with the source.
- Check a random sample.
- Look for blank and duplicate cells.
How is the work measured?
Data entry is measured by the number of pages. Send a sample of the source on WhatsApp and I will define the size of the work.
